Xieyi painting / 寫意畫

Xieyi painting (also known as freehand brushwork) is the art to use simple strokes painted scenes. It is painted on special rice paper with a wave of brush and ink, to arise the spirit of the subject more, and also directly to express the feelings of the author. Xieyi painting is a kind of art form that integrates poetry, calligraphy and painting and stamp.

寫意畫(又稱freehand brushwork)是用簡練的筆法描繪景物的藝術。寫意畫多畫在生宣上，縱筆揮灑，墨彩飛揚，能更體現所描繪景物的神韻，也更能直接地抒發作者的感情。寫意畫是融詩、書畫、印為一體的藝術形式。
