Gongbi painting / 工筆畫

Gongbi is a careful realist technique in Chinese painting, meticulous brush technique that delimits details very precisely and without independent or expressive variation. It is often highly coloured and usually depicts figural or narrative subjects. The term gongbi is also used to refer to paintings that are generally more descriptive than interpretive.

工筆畫是一種很講究技法工整細緻的中國畫，以細緻筆刷技術精確寫實地描繪，相對較少加入作者個人感情的演繹。它通常用上豐富色彩描繪圖像或主體。術語工筆又通指著重寫實更多於意境表達的繪畫。
