Chinese Traditional Painting / 中國畫

It is called「Chinese painting」or「guóhuà」(meaning 'national'), the one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. It is painted on special rice paper or silk with brush, ink and Chinese colored pigments. In traditional, the finished work can be mounted on scrolls, such as hanging scrolls or handscrolls for collection. 
In the subject matter can be classified as figure painting, landscape painting, flowers and animal paintings.
The two main techniques in Chinese painting are Gongbi painting (meticulous style) and Xieyi painting (freehand style), each have their own characteristics.


簡稱「國畫」，是世界上流傳的最古老傳統藝術之一。它用毛筆、墨，和中國畫顏料，在特製的宣紙或絹上作畫。於傳統中，完成的國畫可以做成捲軸，作掛捲或手捲軸收藏。
在題材上有人物畫、山水畫、花鳥畫等之分。
在技法上又可引為工筆畫和寫意畫兩種，各有蹊徑，互有特色。
